Jeep and Mopar reveal six new concept vehicles

When the 47th annual Easter Jeep Safari kicks off in Moab, Utah, in a matter of days, thousands of recreational four-wheeling enthusiasts will get a good look at the six concepts that Jeep and Mopar plan to showcase at the nine-day event.

“Off-road enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised by the range of Jeep models we’re bringing to this year’s Easter Jeep Safari,” said Mike Manley, president and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, in a statement.
The Safari, America’s biggest and most widely-known event promoting recreational off-road motoring, attracts thousands of die-hard fans each year. The event traditionally kicks off the week prior to and including Easter Sunday. This year’s bash will run from March 23 to 31.
According to Jeep and Mopar, the six concepts are as follows:
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is being billed as the most extreme Grand Cherokee to date. Equipped with an EcoDiesel engine, this vehicle has lots of low-end torque to make short work of any obstacle in its path. It also comes with blood-orange paint, 35-inch off-road tires on 17-inch aluminum wheels and more.
The Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon, which is gray on the exterior, boasts a 6.4-litre HEMI V-8 crate engine courtesy of Mopar. The 470-horsepower engine is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission as well as Dana 60 front and rear axles with 4.10 gearing. It also comes with, among other things, 39-inch off-road tires.
The Jeep Wrangler Stitch, based on the 2013 Wrangler Rubicon, boasts a 3,000-lb. curb weight. Jeep designers lightened the vehicle by shaving off weight when it came to the interior, body, axles and frame. The vehicle is equipped with the same front seats featured in the new 2013 SRT Viper, and the rear seats have been taken out altogether. Off-road features include Mopar cold-air intake, Mopar exhaust kit, 35-inch off-road tires on 17-inch aluminum wheels, DynaTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears, and more.
The Jeep Wrangler Sand Trooper II from Mopar comes with a 5.7-litre HEMI V-8 that throws down 375 horsepower and 400 ft.-lb. of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. In addition to exterior enhancements such as window kits, satin black grille and hood lock, the vehicle comes with 40-inch off-road tires.
The Jeep Wrangler Flattop features an upscale look both on the inside and on the outside. It comes with a one-piece, windowless hard top and a body finished in a metallic sandstone with copper and brown accents. Interior features include copper accents on the steering wheel spokes, dark saddle Katzkin leather seating and Mopar slush mats. It also has 37-inch off-road tires, Mopar exhaust kit and Mopar cold-air intake.
The Jeep Wrangler Slim, with its rock lobster exterior colour, is a two-door vehicle equipped with a 3.6-litre V-6 and a 3:73 anti-spin axle. The Jeep comes with a special 10th Anniversary Rubicon front bumper that matches the rear bumper. The black interior includes leather seat covers, Mopar all-weather slush mats, a CB radio and a hard-top headliner.
